If you are in Tianjin and are looking for a chic walking street with a great atmosphere and lots of food, I recommend Tianjin Ancient Culture Street, or Gu Wenhua Jie, which is what locals call it. This street is so awesome!
We went in the evening when it was lively. There were so many souvenir shops that we couldn't decide between fans, bells, and postcards with cute Chinese patterns. We walked around so much that we almost forgot we were hungry. But in the end, we had to stop and eat! We found White Rabbit Ice Cream, which smelled just like our childhood snacks. I was so glad that I ate it because I had wanted to try it for a long time.
Walking a little further, there were lots of street food items, including fried skewers, grilled meatballs, steamed buns, and grilled squid. It all smelled so good. It gave us a cute, old-fashioned Chinese market feel.
At first, we planned to stop by the Tianhou Palace, which is also in this area. However, we ended up walking around a bit too much because the temple was closed, so we couldn't go in. But just seeing the front made us feel peaceful. The art decorations are beautiful and classic.
Overall, I was very impressed. This area gives off a warm, lively Chinese feel, like walking in an old movie scene mixed with the liveliness of the new generation. If anyone comes to Tianjin, Don't forget to stop by
