After walking for several days at full speed in Beijing, today we will take a break from walking and change to a relaxing day with a One Day Trip to Tianjin, a lovely city not far from Beijing.
We left in the late afternoon because we were still sleepy and tired from the previous days. We had a cup of coffee and jumped on the high-speed train. It took us about half an hour to arrive in Tianjin in a very relaxing way.
On this trip, we mostly rode bicycles because we wanted to try riding a leisurely bike and enjoying the breeze.
The first place we visited was the “Cultural Street” or what many people call Ancient Culture Street. It is full of traditional Chinese-style buildings, souvenir shops, handicrafts, local food, and the delicious aroma of Chinese noodles that made our mouths water!
Later, we went for a walk along the Haihe River, enjoying the cool breeze and beautiful views, as well as visiting famous landmarks. “Tianjin Eye” is a magnificent Ferris wheel located on the riverside. It looks beautiful from afar and romantic from up close.
Then it was time to get hungry unexpectedly. We walked around randomly and found a local restaurant. There were a lot of people, but let me tell you, it was surprisingly delicious. The taste was much better than I thought!
Before going back, we stopped by to do some shopping and got some souvenirs. Then we walked back to the train station in a good mood and returned to Beijing in the evening.
Conclusion: You can really visit Tianjin in one day. It is a city that is easy to walk around, has a good feeling, and is not rushed. It is suitable for relaxing after a heavy trip. If you are visiting Beijing for several days and want to change the atmosphere, I recommend that you “stop by Tianjin!”
