Finally checked off this 5A scenic spot near Tianjin! No wonder Emperor Qianlong visited 32 times - the views are absolutely breathtaking, and it's only a 1.5-hour drive from Beijing 🚗
🍁 Best season to visit:
Mid-to-late October is when Panshan is at its most beautiful! The mountains are covered in vibrant red leaves, making every photo look stunning. Arrive before 8am for the best lighting and fewest crowds.
🚠 Lazy-friendly route:
1️⃣ Take the cable car up (¥80 one-way) directly to Wansong Temple Station
2️⃣ See Emperor Qianlong's inscribed stone "First Mountain East of Beijing"
3️⃣ Hike along the ridge trail to Guayue Peak (864m elevation), about 2 hours
4️⃣ Descend either by foot (1.5 hours) or sightseeing bus (¥30)
🍜 Must-try foods:
Don't miss the famous vegetarian restaurant on the mountain - their Luohan noodles (¥28) and veggie buns are amazing! At the base, try the grilled rainbow trout and cornbread at [Yujia'ao] restaurant - about ¥60 per person for a feast!
⚠️ Pro tips:
1️⃣ Wear anti-slip shoes - some steps are steep
2️⃣ Bring cash (signal is spotty on the mountain)
3️⃣ Parking at the entrance is ¥20/day
4️⃣ Carry a thermos - free hot water available on the trails
