Finally unlocked the long-awaited Maijishan Grottoes! I was speechless at the first sight, the wisdom and craftsmanship of the ancients are truly worthy of admiration 🤩
🚩Recommended route:
Depart from downtown Tianshui at 8 AM, about a 1-hour taxi ride to Maijishan Scenic Area. It is recommended to head straight to the grottoes first to avoid the peak time of tour groups. At the ticket office, you can already see the majestic cliff and the layers of caves, just the distant view is breathtaking.
📸Must-visit spots:
1. East Cliff Giant Buddha - A 13-meter tall Maitreya Buddha, with mist drifting inside the Buddha niche making the statue seem alive
2. Thousand Buddha Corridor - Thousands of small Buddha statues with vivid expressions hidden in densely arranged niches
3. Sanhua Tower - Legend says Buddha preached here while "Heavenly Maidens scattered flowers," and you can still see exquisite flying celestial murals
❗️Practical tips:
- It is recommended to visit on a cloudy or rainy day, the mist swirling around the mountains is absolutely beautiful
- Prepare comfortable shoes, climbing the plank road requires some physical strength
- Be sure to scan the code and purchase the electronic guide in advance, or you will miss many wonderful stories
- To protect the cultural relics, selfie sticks are prohibited inside the scenic area
🍜Food recommendations:
After descending, you can try the local specialty "Guagua" at the farmhouse restaurant near the scenic area entrance, and the Longxi cured meat is also excellent! Back in the city, try Tianshui Jiangshui noodles, which have a very unique flavor.
