Yalong Glacier’s Hidden Magic in Tibet

This was one of the most amazing and stunning places I have ever visited. Yalong Glacier, which is tucked away inside Laigu Glacier Scenic Area in Tibet, sits at 4300m above sea level.

It was an adventure just to get there—we took a very bumpy 4WD ride far into the mountains, and I was very out of breath by the time we arrived. But wow… the glacier was huge, quiet, and surreal. The only thing I regret was not getting to see the famed blue ice cave, which I found out had closed on May 31 due to melting due to climate change. That being said, being up there was magical and it made me feel like I was in a different world.
