Tokaguchi One Day: Worship at Five Mountain Shrines

This trip, we started in Nagano City, purchasing a round-trip bus ticket for Togakushi. We chose to take the bus to the highest shrine first, getting off at Togakoshi-kusa Station, and then walking back to the shrines. There are two shrines along the way, each with beautiful trees lining both sides.
After paying our respects at the two upper shrines, we descended to Togakoshi-chūsa, where we paid our respects to the large main shrine in the middle of the road. We then stopped for some of the local famous cold soba noodles, one of several restaurants. We then descended to pay our respects at a few more shrines below. Hinomikosha Shrine is located along the road, and then we continued down to Hokosha Shrine.
Overall, this trip was an easy, gentle walk from the top to the bottom, with a cool atmosphere. We visited all five shrines.
