Chasing Sakura at Shioiri Park 🌸

#cherryblossom25 Shioiri Park, located along the Sumida River in Tokyo’s Arakawa ward, is a serene destination for cherry blossom viewing. The park features a variety of cherry trees that bloom at slightly different times, extending the hanami season and offering visitors prolonged enjoyment of the blossoms.  

A distinctive feature of Shioiri Park is the picturesque view of cherry blossoms with the Tokyo Skytree in the background, providing excellent photo opportunities. The park’s expansive lawns and well-maintained paths make it ideal for picnics, leisurely strolls, and family gatherings. Additionally, its relative seclusion compared to more popular spots allows for a more relaxed hanami experience. 

For those planning a visit, Shioiri Park is accessible via the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line; it’s approximately a 10-minute walk from Minami-Senju Station. The park offers amenities such as baby beds and chairs, catering to families with young children.  

As of March 26, 2025, cherry blossoms in Tokyo are beginning to open, with the best viewing period expected from March 30 to April 7. Visiting Shioiri Park during this timeframe would provide an optimal experience of the cherry blossoms in full bloom.
