Tokyo|Tonkatsu Kawamura Fried Pork Cutlet

A Japanese-style decorated fried pork cutlet restaurant. Besides the counter seating area at the entrance, there are also regular seats arranged for larger groups. The staff are quite friendly, and the menu options are not many. Besides Japanese, there is also an English version, so quite a few foreign tourists come to dine here.

I ordered the Premium Fillet Cutlet Set Meal ¥3000. If you don’t want rice and miso soup, you can get ¥400 off. The meal is made to order, so the waiting time is a bit longer. Looking around, no table had been served yet!

The Fillet Cutlet Set Meal includes fried pork cutlet, white rice, and miso soup. The shredded cabbage next to the cutlet can be refilled, but the staff didn’t mention this at all. Various sauces (salad dressing, tonkatsu sauce, soy sauce, salt, and a small cup of pickles) are all on the table. The fried pork cutlet also comes with mustard sauce, which pairs very well. This is a thick fried pork cutlet with a crispy, non-greasy crust. Although it’s thick, it’s cooked through and the texture is quite tender. Japanese white rice is fragrant, with each grain plump. The rice was cooked just right that day, not too dry. The miso soup is flavorful but slightly salty.
