Tokyo|A Delightful Shop

Stopped by after 10 a.m. to avoid the rain and wandered around the mall. Suddenly, I came to this entrance where one customer was already in line, about 20 minutes before opening. Let’s wait in line!

While waiting at the door, you can see trays of bread being taken out and placed on the shelves inside, full of delicious-looking bread. There are many staff members, and I was wondering why so many. Once inside, each customer has a dedicated staff member to serve bread. The shop doesn’t let all customers in at once but adjusts based on the situation.

I bought Financier, Madeleine, Croissant, Bri-Cro à tête, Grand Kouign-Amann, and a tin of cookies called Coquille et Poitevin, which are on the pricier side!

The Croissant’s taste and texture were just average, not that fragrant and flaky kind. The inside texture of the Croissant was more like regular bread.

The tin of cookies, Coquille et Poitevin, has two flavors. This box is really expensive, but the two types of cookies taste different and have different textures, pairing well with tea or coffee.

Bri-Cro à tête was something I didn’t quite understand; it didn’t have any special flavor and was a bit dry.

Between the Financier and Madeleine, I preferred the texture and taste of the Financier. The Madeleine was comparatively more ordinary.

My favorite this time was the Grand Kouign-Amann, with its multi-layered crispy texture coated with a layer of sugar on the outside. It’s sweet and sticky, best paired with iced Americano.

Besides bread and croissants, they also have related products, including Saint-Honoré and Mille-Feuilles. I really want to try them, but I’m too full now. I’ll come back next time to finish trying them!
