I really enjoyed spending a morning walking around Yanaka in Tokyo. It’s a quiet, local neighborhood that feels very different from the busy areas of the city.
There are lots of small local shops selling handmade goods, snacks, and crafts. Many of them have a traditional feel, and the shop owners are friendly. I liked how personal and unique everything was—nothing felt too commercial.
I recommend going in the morning, when the streets are calm and shops are just opening. It’s a nice way to start the day, especially if you enjoy slower, more peaceful places. Yanaka is a great spot to explore if you’re looking for something local and relaxed in Tokyo.
