I visited Akihabara during the day in early March it was raining and even snowing a little, but the atmosphere was still bright, lively, and exciting. The streets were full of color and energy, even with the bad weather.
As a fan of the anime Bungou Stray Dogs, I was happy to find merchandise with my favorite characters in several shops. There are so many anime stores in the area, and each one has its own unique selection. I really recommend exploring different buildings and floors many stores go several levels up or down, and each floor might focus on a different genre or series. I also bought lots of manga from Mandarake Complex in this area for low prices.
I came back again at night to experience the lights and the evening vibe, and it felt totally different since the weather got better too. If you have time, I #tokyo suggest visiting more than once—day and night have very different moods, and both are worth experiencing.
There are also maid cafés around, which are a big part of Akihabara culture. I didn’t get the chance to try one, but if you’re curious, it could be a fun part of your visit.
If you’re looking for something specific and can’t find it, don’t hesitate to ask the store staff. They’re usually helpful and might guide you to another shop where you can find what you’re looking for.
Whether you're a casual anime fan or a serious collector, Akihabara is definitely worth a visit!!!
