Located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo’s Hibiya Park is a historic Western-style urban park adjacent to the Imperial Palace and Ginza. It is conveniently accessible within a 1 to 3-minute walk from Hibiya or Yurakucho subway stations. The best time to see the autumn foliage here is from mid-November to early December, when the ginkgo and maple trees throughout the park turn golden yellow and bright red. The most spectacular views are around Shinji Pond and near the Crane Fountain, where the water reflects the autumn colors like a picturesque painting.
Hibiya Park features expansive lawns, ancient stone bridges, and elegant Western-style flower beds, blending natural scenery with the urban architectural backdrop, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts. The park also houses several restaurants and cafes, including the historic “Matsumotoro,” where dining outdoors in autumn adds to the pleasure. Additionally, the park frequently hosts art exhibitions, markets, and musical performances, making it a year-round retreat.
Admission is free, and whether for a brief midday stroll, a leisurely picnic, or enjoying the autumn scenery, Hibiya Park is a relaxing and charming green oasis in the heart of Tokyo. The autumn foliage season especially makes it a place visitors never want to leave.
