"Lights that Color Daikanyama's Winter—A Report on the Address Dice Christmas Illuminations"
Daikanyama Address Dice, directly connected to the north exit of Daikanyama Station, is planning a winter illuminations display in 2025 from mid-November to mid-January, enveloping the city in approximately 24,000 lights.
When I visited, the blue-silver Star Street and princess crown-shaped lights blended seamlessly into the elegant streets of Daikanyama. The lit trees in the evening, combined with the crisp air, seemed to clear my mind with every step.
This year's theme is "Light." Rather than extravagant displays, the quiet message of "one light warms the city" is striking. Conveniently located just steps from the station, it's easy to stop by between shopping and cafe hopping.
Weekday evenings or early evenings after shopping tend to be quieter, making it a recommended spot. It's not too crowded, so you can enjoy the illuminations at your own pace.
The Address d'Issée complex in Daikanyama is decorated with fantastical illuminations every winter, making it an especially romantic place for a stroll. When I visited previously, I was impressed by the giant champagne gold Christmas tree and star-shaped object set up in the center of the shopping area. The simple yet elegant lighting display matches the atmosphere of Daikanyama and is memorable.
The lights are on from sunset until 10pm, so you can enjoy it at your leisure on a sparsely crowded weekday evening. The round illumination bulbs and bands of light attached to the trees add a soft glow to the streets, and it's a pleasant place to drop in between shopping and cafe hopping.
