Want to see the night view of Tokyo but don't want to pay for SHIBUYA SKY all the time? 🌃Today teach you a place where you can not only see the night view in Tokyo for free, but also play for half a day! Let me introduce you to this great place in Tokyo - Tokyo Metropolitan Hall! 🏢Tokyo Metropolitan Hall 45th floor is divided into two observation rooms, north and south, overlooking the night view of Tokyo, the point is free! In addition to the night view, you can also watch the light and shadow show, eat (you can enter other people's employees canteen kind!), shopping, really can play half a day! ⏰
【🆓Observation Deck Information】
During the recent period until September 21, the opening hours were plentiful:
🔹North Observation Room: Open daily from 09:30 to 22:00 (last entry at 21:30), but will be closed on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month (if it coincides with a public holiday, it will be closed until the next working day)
🔹South Observation Room: Also open at 09:30 until 22:00 (last entry at 21:30), closed on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month (same postponed on holidays)
It's super easy to go up! You can reach it directly by taking the exclusive "Observation Deck Elevator" on the 1st floor of the First Hall. However, on weekends or holidays, the entrance to the 2nd floor is not open, so remember to go around to the main entrance of the 1st floor. Highly recommend arriving before sunset, one pack at dusk plus night view!
Courteous reminder: Starting September 22, the North Observation Room will close earlier at 17:30 (last entry 17:00), while the south side will open until 22:00 (last entry at 21:30). In addition, both sides will be closed at the end of the year (December 29-31, January 2-3) and some special days (such as bad weather)
【🌆North and South Landscape Features】
Both sides can see the panoramic view of Tokyo in a 360-degree circle, but the landmark perspective is not the same! The most classic Tokyo Tower should be clearly photographed in the South Observation Room~ For other landmark buildings, look northeast to see the Skytree; turn to the southwest corner to see Shinjuku Park Tower and Tokyo Opera City; Incidentally, the southeast direction also overlooks Shinjuku Gyoen and Meiji Jingu Shrine ~
Hidden in the South Observation Room is the Metropolitan Memories Piano designed by Yayoi Kusama, which is open to play daily from 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00. Don't be surprised if you hear the sound of a piano while passing by - that's the little romance left to Tokyo by travelers🎹
【🛍️ Dining & Shopping】
Are you hungry for a view? There are small shops in the north and south observation rooms! The south side of "GIFT SHOP TOKYO Meikai Store!" specializes in exquisite Tokyo-exclusive souvenirs; the north side of "CAFE & SHOP SOCOCOCO" has coffee and snacks, with drinks to see the night view especially chill ~ both accompany you to see the view until 22:00!
Secretly a local gameplay: the "staff canteen" on the 32nd floor of the first government main building is also open to the public! Set meals, curry, pasta are affordable, you can rest during lunch time (11:00-14:00) and coffee time (08:00-17:00) - however it only works with civil servants (open on weekdays, closed on holidays) Payment can be made with cash, Suica and other e-wallets, some credit cards are also OK ~
【✨Night Egg: TOKYO Night & Light】
Don't leave in a hurry after dark! The “TOKYO Night & Light” projection show on the outer wall of the Metropolitan Hall is certified by Guinness World Records as the “Projection Mapping Show on the Largest Building”! On weekdays, programs such as Aimer's "Remnant Song", "Evolution" and "Lunar Cycle" are rotated; on weekends, shocking Gundam clips may be screened - performances start at 19:30, 20:00, 20:30, 21:00 and 21:30 every night (about 15 minutes each). The best viewing spot is the "Tumin Square" in front of the building, free of charge and free of charge, squeeze into the crowd and scream together ~
