Omoide Yokocho: Tokyo’s Memory Lane 🎌🍢🍡

Omoide Yokocho (思い出横丁) — “Memory Lane” — is a narrow alley near Shinjuku Station in Tokyo filled with tiny yakitori bars, izakayas, and ramen stalls.

It dates back to the post–World War II era and retains a nostalgic, lantern-lit Showa-era atmosphere. Most spots have just a few seats, serve affordable food and drinks, and prefer cash.

Best visited in the evening, it’s a cozy, lively place to enjoy local food culture — similar in spirit to nearby Golden Gai.
