Amid the surging Yellow River, the ancient city of Tongguan stands silently for a thousand years, like a doorway to history. Walking up the city walls, the wind, carrying yellow sand, transports me back to the days of war and battle. The ancient bricks and stones remain mottled, and the cloud patterns carved on the city gates still bear witness to the passage of time.
The city's winding streets and alleys are dotted with teahouses and old shops. The lingering sound of Qinqiang opera drifts from a corner, as if stepping back in time. As the sun sets, the banks of the Yellow River are bathed in a dazzling glow, and the mountains, a shimmering dark blue, seem to tell the endless story of Guanlong. Tongguan is more than just a geographical barrier; it serves as a guardian of the memory of Central Plains civilization.
