When you come to Tottori, you must visit the Tottori Sand Dunes. The Tottori Sand Dunes in the San'in Kaigan Geopark are the largest coastal sand dunes in Japan, stretching 2.4 kilometers from north to south and 16 kilometers from east to west.
The beautiful wind patterns created by the wind from the Sea of Japan and the sand on the dunes are fascinating. And from the small hill "Uma no Sei", you can have a superb view of the Sea of Japan.
In addition, the most eye-catching transparent glass and wooden building at the next bus stop is like a stairway to the sky! Takahama Cafe, built by Kengo Kuma in the Tottori Sand Dunes, Japan
Takahama#Takahama #cafe Cafe Takahama Cafe was built to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the completion of the Tottori Sand Dunes Hall. The exterior of the building is inclined at 17 degrees, like a wooden staircase leading to the sky. It also embodies the three concepts of "negative architecture", "stacking" and "integration with the environment" by the architectural master Kengo Kuma. It uses locally produced cedar wood and combines earthquake-resistant and fire-resistant cross-laminated timber (CLT) with reinforced concrete construction. #NegativeArchitecture #KengoKuma #Tottori #TottoriSandDunes
