When I decided to stay at the Windsor Hotel at Lake Toya, the first thing I wanted to do was book a reservation at this exclusive teppanyaki restaurant with stunning views of Lake Toya. I had already planned to book a lunch reservation because dinner would only offer a pitch-black view, which would be such a pity. 😌

On the day of our meal, it rained in the morning, and the fog made the entire mountain look like a blurry white canvas, as if we were looking through frosted glass. 🫣 I reassured my travel companion, saying, "Don't worry, once we sit down for the meal, the view will clear up." 🤭 Sure enough, as soon as we were seated, the fog lifted, revealing a crystal-clear blue sky and lake view. 😌 Thank you, Mother Nature, for your kindness! 🥹

Out of Africa Teppanyaki uses ingredients sourced from Hokkaido. I loved the chef's enthusiastic interaction, the perfect control of cooking temperatures, and the breathtaking panoramic view of the lake. If I ever get the chance, I would definitely come back to relive this wonderful experience. 🎈

Perhaps I was too relaxed during the vacation and made a silly mistake 🤪. When booking, the hotel required us to pre-select our menu (all four guests had to choose the same set menu). We opted for the most expensive ¥36,300 set, which included king crab, Ezo abalone, and two types of Hokkaido wagyu beef. The ingredients were excellent! Although the price was higher than expected, considering this is one of the few Michelin-starred teppanyaki restaurants with great reviews, and it happened to be my travel companion's birthday, I thought, "Let's splurge a little!" 😙

It wasn't until we settled the bill that we realized... ¥36,300 was the price for two people! 😆 My travel companion and I exclaimed that this meal was absolutely worth it!

During the meal, we were seated in a private room facing Lake Toya. After the main course, we were taken to another space to enjoy dessert, which offered views of Uchiura Bay. 🥹 The scenery on this side was equally stunning. When staying at the Windsor Hotel, you can even choose a room with a view of your preferred landscape. Dining at this teppanyaki restaurant allows you to enjoy two different views in one experience—how delightful! 🎈😙
