Mount Yotei is located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, Hokkaido, Japan. With an altitude of 1,898 meters, it can be clearly seen from almost all surrounding areas.
Mt. Goga Yotei is its old name, which was taken from the ancient place name "Goga Yotei" in the "Nihon Shoki". Later, because it was too difficult to pronounce, the pronunciation of the last three characters was used as its official name.
If you look from the east, Mt. Yotei stands side by side with the nearby Shiribetsu-dake, which is 1,107 meters above sea level, like twin peaks, so Shiribetsu-dake is also nicknamed "Mt.
