We visited Toyama Castle in the morning and it turned out to be such a peaceful and enjoyable experience. The weather was perfect—blue skies, gentle breeze, and not a single crowd in sight. It felt like we had the entire castle grounds to ourselves.
The family really enjoyed the walk around the park surrounding the castle. The greenery was lush, the moat reflected the morning light beautifully, and the entire place had a calm, almost poetic atmosphere. It was one of those moments where you slow down, take a deep breath, and just enjoy being present.
While the castle itself is a reconstructed version, it still carries a sense of quiet dignity. The surrounding gardens and stone walls give you a glimpse into the history and offer plenty of scenic spots for photos.
If you’re in Toyama, don’t skip it. It’s not a grand, towering castle like some others in Japan, but that’s what makes it so charming—understated, serene, and a perfect way to start the day.
