A Day Trip to Toyama:
Depart Nagoya this morning and take the JR Hida train to Toyama, arriving around 12:33 PM. First, visit Togan Canal Park and take a sightseeing boat tour (costs ¥2,000-2,500, depending on the route). The boat ride takes about 70 minutes. Then, return to the JR station for a light lunch. Then, visit the Toyama City Hall Observation Tower for a panoramic view of the city. On a clear, cloudless day, you might even be able to see the Tateyama Kurobe Mountains. Then, visit Toyama Castle and the Sato Memorial Museum of Art. Then, return to the station, stroll through the mall, and catch the JR Hida train back to Nagoya at 5:14 PM.
