[Yamagata] A hotel floating in a rice field?!

Shonai Hotel Suiden Terrace

A work by world-renowned architect Shigeru Ban

The concept is a floating hotel over rice paddies, where you can spend time farming and reading in the sun and rain.

A bright library right at the front desk and several libraries overlooking the green rice paddies.

The food concept is "A place to connect with the deep agricultural culture of Shonai, Yamagata, throughout the year."

A locally sourced breakfast buffet was delicious, overlooking Mt. Gassan.

Lunch, cafe, and dinner are also available.

There's also a sake bar and sake lounge.

The rooms are functional and well-maintained.

The hotel is also committed to sustainability.

I was very satisfied with the natural hot springs at this hotel, which I'd always wanted to stay at.
