A Relaxing One-Day Walk in Uji!

Uji is a very tranquil city, perfect for a leisurely one-day exploration. Let me share my one-day walking tour in Uji!

Starting from Uji Station:

1️⃣ Nakamura Tokichi Byodoin Store
Enjoy matcha while overlooking the Uji River. The scenery is fantastic and highly recommended!

2️⃣ Uji Bridge
Uji Bridge is one of Japan's three oldest bridges. At the bridgehead, there's a statue of Murasaki Shikibu. Walking across the bridge, you can enjoy the expansive river view, full of historical charm!

3️⃣ Tale of Genji Museum
A must-visit for literature enthusiasts!

4️⃣ Uji Shrine
A charming little shrine famous for its rabbit 🐇 motif. It's quite adorable!

6️⃣ Boats along the Uji River
At certain times, you can take a boat ride and watch cormorant fishing performances!

5️⃣ Byodoin Temple
The renowned Byodoin Temple, as depicted on the Japanese yen coin, comes to life before your eyes!

My one-day trip in Uji concluded with buying some matcha souvenirs at Itohkyuemon. On the way back, I noticed the unique Uji mailbox near the station—it was quite interesting!

From 10 AM to 6 PM—a wonderful day!
