🍵 A day trip to Uji, Kyoto | A relaxing stroll from Uji Bridge to a famous matcha shop

On a scorching summer day, I visited Uji, Kyoto, and strolled along the Uji River, from Uji Bridge to the old streets of Byodoin Temple. This area not only boasts a rich Japanese atmosphere, but is also home to numerous renowned matcha shops.

Among them, I'm most looking forward to visiting Nakamura Tokichi's Byodoin branch. The rich, fragrant matcha ice cream and delicate matcha desserts are a true treat for the taste buds. Arriving in Uji by train early in the morning and leaving before dusk is perfect!
