🇯🇵 [Kagawa Prefecture] Shikoku 88 Temples, 78th Temple, Bukkozan Kotokuin Goshoji

The 78th temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, said to have been founded by Gyoki in 725 (^^) Standing at the foot of Mt. Aonoyama overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, it is also famous as the Great Master of Protection from Misfortune! In the Kannon Cave (visited from 8am to 5pm) located underground next to the Daishi Hall, there are about 20,000 donated Kannon statues lined up, making for a spectacular sight (^^) It is also the only temple in Shikoku that enshrines both the Shingon and Jishu sects.

[Location] 1435 Utazu-cho, Ayauta-gun, Kagawa Prefecture
