I visited Laos as part of my Southeast Asia trip. I flew from Bangkok and arrived in the capital, Vientiane, with the ticket costing almost $100. I stayed at the luxurious Crowne Plaza Vientiane hotel, which overlooks the river. The price for one night was about $130.
I decided to visit Buddha Park, one of the most famous landmarks there. I rented a car with a driver for half a day for $40. The drive to the park took about 45 minutes from the city center, and the road was quiet and the nature was beautiful.
The entrance fee was about $1.5, and the place is distinguished by its large and diverse sculptures, with over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues of strange and beautiful designs. The park is fun for walking and meditation, with shaded areas and simple places to buy juice.
The visit was quiet and filled with artistic and cultural details, and the general atmosphere was relaxing, perfect for photos and meditation.
