🏛 What is Patuxai?

The full name is "Patuxai Monument" or what Lao people call Patuxai.

Located in the middle of Lan Xang Road in the heart of Vientiane.

Built to commemorate the Laotians who died in the war for independence from France.

Inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris but decorated with Lao patterns such as the traditional pattern, Naga, and Champa flowers 🌸🐍

🕒 Opening - closing hours:

Open daily: 08.00 - 17.00 hrs.

You can go up to the top to see a 360-degree view of Vientiane.

Entrance fee: Approximately 5,000 kip (~10 Thai baht)

Bottom: Take pictures with beautiful architecture

Inside: There is a spiral staircase and souvenirs for sale

Upper: High angle viewpoint overlooking the beautiful Lan Xang Road And the garden around Patuxai

In the evening: The atmosphere is good. There are locals walking and exercising.

🗺 Travel:

From the Mekong River/morning market/various hotel gates, you can take a tuk-tuk/Grab Laos to get there. It takes about 5-10 minutes.

Or you can walk (if you stay in Vientiane city center) because the distance is not far.
