Using my "Travel Support Fund," I spent a special September night at a campsite on the shores of Lake Tekapo. September can be a bit chilly for camping, but with the right gear, the romance of camping with a lake as a backdrop is unparalleled. Walking along the lakeside in the evening, the mountains and sky reflected in the still waters were like a mirror. After sunset, we gathered around a campfire by the lake, sipping warm tea and chatting. It was truly a peaceful time. Unlike the hustle and bustle of Queenstown, Lake Tekapo offers a true retreat immersed in nature. It was a serene and romantic camping experience unique to September, New Zealand's early spring.
