Today, I'm sharing a treasure trove of history—Hou Tu Temple😎. Located in Wanrong County, Shanxi Province, it is the oldest temple dedicated to the goddess Hou Tu (Nuwa) in China, boasting titles such as "Crown of Temples" and "Origin of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing." Emperor Wu of Han visited and worshipped here six times, leaving behind many fascinating stories.
Highlights abound✨. The Qiufeng Tower within the temple is unique in form and exquisite in structure. Inside, it houses a Yuan Dynasty-carved stele inscribed with Emperor Wu of Han's "Ode to the Autumn Wind," a truly precious artifact. The temple's architectural layout is meticulous, with imposing halls and superb craftsmanship in wood carving, stone carving, and glazed tiles. Every detail showcases the ancient artisans' exceptional skills.
Exceptional photo opportunities📷. Shooting upwards from the front of Qiufeng Tower captures its majestic grandeur. The ancient cypress trees within the temple, with the mottled walls as a backdrop, offer instant vintage charm. Along the central axis of Hou Tu Temple, symmetrical compositions create breathtaking images.
