The only hotel in Wuhan I've stayed at three times for business trips!

Sheraton Hankou – A grand legacy from the SPG era

📍Having stayed at Fairmont Wuhan the previous night, I arrived here within minutes by taxi. For tourists, the location is similar to Fairmont – slightly distant from major attractions. However, the hotel sits right above Fanhai City Plaza, offering great dining convenience.

🏨 The public areas initially seemed conventional without standout features, yet maintaining such timeless elegance over 11 years is impressive. The long Wuhan-themed memory corridor from the lobby to guest elevators is particularly charming.

🛏️ Rooms are the highlight. This time I booked a Deluxe Corner Room – the moment you enter, you feel the substantial quality of SPG-era furnishings, justifying its nickname "Little St. Regis of Wuhan." Every aspect remains impeccable without signs of aging. The linens and bedding are exceptionally comfortable, especially the plush pillows.

💁 Service had both strengths and room for improvement. During check-in, the front desk forgot to collect the deposit and later chased me to the elevator – though apologetic, this needs attention. That said, housekeeping staff were warm with greetings, and doormen proactively assisted with car doors.

I'd long heard about Sheraton Grand's outstanding hardware and service during the SPG era. Visiting specifically for weekend brunch, the hotel kindly arranged an executive suite in advance. Despite being over a decade old, maintenance is excellent – a testament to SPG's robust standards. The bedding deserves special praise; I found these pillows even more comfortable than Westin's Heavenly Bed.

The brunch featured abundant live Chinese cooking stations perfectly suiting my taste – beef cubes, ox intestines, and pork belly were delicious, while desserts maintained Marriott's consistent quality. Sadly, I missed the lounge (reportedly with great views) and the temporarily closed Red Basil restaurant (once my favorite Thai spot in town).

🧹 Noise/Sanitation: Effective soundproofing and impeccable cleanliness throughout.

🏘️ Room/Layout: Deluxe Corner Room offers smart space utilization; executive suites are equally spacious and luxurious.

🛏️ Amenities:
- Premium furnishings show no aging; premium linens with exceptional pillows
- Brunch excels in Chinese live stations and desserts; lounge (untried) is reputedly scenic

💗 Tips:
- Fanhai City Plaza below covers all dining needs
- Highly recommend Deluxe rooms for superior experience; brunch is a must for Chinese cuisine lovers
- Don't miss the lounge's signature views if possible

📝 Verdict: Highly recommended for its value. My first choice for future Wuhan visits.
