"Half the City is Mountains and Water, Full of Joy: A Wuhu Stroll Guide"

"My home is at the river's end, half the city is mountains, half the city is water🌊..." Because of this song, I accidentally came to Wuhu and unexpectedly experienced the most healing trip of the year.

【No Popular Attractions, But Full Happiness】💫
A friend said, "There's nothing fun in Wuhu," but I discovered the secret of this river city—it doesn't need popular attractions because the whole city is a living landscape. The Yangtze River makes a gentle bend here, the water slows down, and so does the pace of life⏳.

From the red-skinned duck🦆 at the Forbidden City banquet to the minced meat steamed rice at the alley corner; from the morning soup dumplings🥟 to the afternoon red bean fermented rice wine🍶. Wuhu tells you through its food: happiness can be this simple!

【My River City Walking Map】📍
Guangji Temple (Zheshan Park) → Wuhu Ancient City → Zhongjiang Tower → Xiaoma Duck Shop → Yugeng Mountain → Old Customs Building → Riverside Park

Start the morning at Zheshan Park🌳, feel the thousand-year incense at Guangji Temple, one of Anhui's four famous temples. Climb the Northern Song Zheshan Tower to take in the full view of "half the city is mountains, half the city is water."

Stroll along the Qingyi River to Wuhu Ancient City, searching for traces of old times on the bluestone roads. Pass by the 1876 Treaty of Yantai buildings—the Catholic Church⛪️ and the Old Customs Building—these old structures have now become the most beautiful riverside scenery.

But the most stunning moment for me has to be the sunset🌅 at Riverside Park! Having been to Chongqing, Wuhan, and Nanjing, I still have to cheer for Wuhu’s river view. When the sunset dyes the river golden red, and the ferry’s whistle sounds, the whole city is immersed in gentle twilight. Bai Juyi’s "Half the river is shimmering, half the river is red" finds its perfect interpretation here✨.

Come to Wuhu, put down your itinerary, and stroll freely. The happiness of this river city is hidden in every sunset, every bite of food, and every slowed-down moment. Walk slowly, and you will fall deeply in love💖.
