Around China Series 160 Wuwei Jiumoluoshi Temple

🌈Historical Background:
Emperor Lü Guang of the Later Liang Dynasty built the temple to accommodate Jiumoluoshi. The pagoda and temple were greatly expanded during the Tang Dynasty, and were repaired in both the Ming and Qing Dynasties. To commemorate Jiumoluoshi, the people of Liangzhou built the Luoshi Pagoda in Guzang and, in accordance with his wishes, buried Jiumoluoshi's tongue sarira beneath the pagoda.

🚗Highlights:
A national 2A-level scenic spot, the main structures include the Luoshi Temple Pagoda and the Mahavira Hall, with a history of over 1600 years. It is a precious relic for studying the culture of the Five Liangs, Han Buddhism, and Western Regions Buddhism, and is also the largest Buddhist activity center in the northwest region.
