3-Day Xiamen Itinerary: Local's Ultimate Walking Tour
Day 1: Gulangyu Island + Zhongshan Road Night Snacks
Arrive at International Cruise Center before 8am! (Tourist pier gets crazy crowded – trust me). First stop after disembarking: Longtou Road:
· Shenjia Rice Noodle Roll's shark fin soup is legendary (but be prepared for long queues)
· Linshi Fish Balls' freshly made bouncy fish balls
⚠️ Avoid those flashy bubble tea shops on the island – total tourist traps!
Return to Zhongshan Road before 5pm:
· 30-year-old Yuehua Satay Noodles (grumpy owner but delicious)
· Lianhuan Oyster Omelette in the alley – must eat with sweet chili sauce
Late-night snack at Kaiyuan 141 Seafood (locals' favorite)
Day 2: Xiamen University + Hipster Shapowei
⚠️ Book XMU entry 3 days in advance! (learned the hard way) Must-sees:
· Furong Tunnel graffiti wall (find the "I Love You Goodbye" artwork)
· Shangxian Sports Field (filming location of "Meteor Shower")
Lunch at Shapowei:
· Liangfang's wild strawberry cake is to die for
· "Pretending to Be in Korea" restaurant's fried chicken & beer combo
Evening at Only One·Viewing Sea Coffee (breathtaking night views)
Day 3: Time-Travel in Jimei School Village
Take Metro Line 1 (get that ocean-view train selfie!)
· Instagram-worthy Kah Kee architecture complex
Must-eats:
· Satay noodles near Dashe Opera Stage
· Wangji Xian Dou Cake (eat while hot!)
⚠️ Pro Tips:
· Zengcuoan snack street – look but don't buy (tourist trap)
· Never follow taxi drivers' "seafood restaurant" recommendations!
· Skip Gulangyu's overpriced flower tea (100RMB for tiny portion)
🏨 Accommodation:
· Splurge: Lujiang Hotel (classic state-run heritage)
· Budget: Zengcuoan B&Bs (200+RMB/night)
This itinerary is perfected after 5 Xiamen trips!
