Summer in Xiamen begins with a bowl of chilled Siguo Tang (Four Fruits Soup) – at A Jie's stall, lotus seeds, barley, and seaweed jelly tumble in crushed ice, drizzled with honey syrup for an instant 5°C cooldown. The real MVP is the earthworm jelly at Kaihe Road intersection, where crunchy starworms dipped in garlic vinegar make satisfying crunches, perfectly paired with hand-shredded chicken from Jukou Street and mango with soy sauce – absolutely divine! As night falls, head to Baishi Market where Yousheng Snacks' rich satay noodle broth clings to your lips, followed by Ah Ji Zai pastries as souvenirs – a total feast for foodie DNA.
Xiamen also boasts the picturesque Xiamen University. Stroll through its tree-lined campus, soak in the hipster café vibes, visit the Lu Xun Memorial Hall, and admire the legacy of Mr. Tan Kah Kee's institution. Don't miss Furong Lake, Lover's Valley, Shangxian Field, and the graffiti-covered Furong Tunnel, or take the side gate to White City Beach for ocean breezes. The on-campus Anthropology Museum and Lu Xun Memorial House showcase fascinating cultural relics.
Come to Xiamen – savor the flavors, explore the campus, and embrace the good life!
