On a weekday evening, the HEAT Bar on the 35th floor of the W Hotel was almost empty, making it feel like we had the place to ourselves. The bar features a spacious layout with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, offering a panoramic view of Xiamen's city lights. After 9:30 PM, guests started to arrive gradually, but overall, it remained relatively quiet.

The ambiance is classic bar style, with flickering lights and constantly changing neon hues. The centerpiece is the circular bar counter, which becomes even more striking when the overhead ring light casts a red glow, instantly elevating the atmosphere. According to online reviews, this spot was even used as a filming location for a TV series. The iconic giant W logo by the window is a must-visit photo spot—just one snap captures the essence of urban vibes.

However, a word of caution when ordering drinks: the photos on the menu can be a bit misleading, as the actual colors of the beverages are heavily influenced by the ambient lighting. Following the staff's recommendation, I tried their signature cocktail, "Letter from Gulangyu." It's a low-alcohol drink with a refreshing sweetness dominated by fruity flavors. The alcohol is barely noticeable, making it an easy choice even for someone like me who rarely drinks, with no pressure at all.
