No amount of photos or stories can beat experiencing it for yourself.

We wandered from the upper stream to the lower stream of the Tuo River, strolling slowly, pausing often — completely enchanted by Fenghuang’s beauty. Despite the town becoming quite commercialized (photo studios at every corner), it still retains its charm, especially on rainy days. The mist and rain add a dreamy, Jiangnan-style atmosphere that’s hard to replicate elsewhere.

🌿 But a word of honesty — the lower stream of the river has visible trash, and at times, you can catch whiffs of unpleasant odors. Hopefully, the town strengthens its environmental upkeep soon, as the scenery deserves better.
