🍁 Visiting Huangcangyu again, this is what autumn should really look like

Family, autumn truly is the golden season for travel! I recently visited Huangcangyu for the second time and was completely captivated by its autumn beauty! This time, I have to share this super detailed autumn viewing guide with you all!

🌟 Attraction Introduction
Huangcangyu National Forest Park is located north of Xiao County, Suzhou City, Anhui Province. It is a national 4A-level scenic area, with an elevation of 389 meters and covering an area of 31 square kilometers. Originally named Huangsangyu, it was renamed Huangcangyu because Emperor Liu Bang of the Han Dynasty once hid here. It features karst limestone mountains with numerous caves, flowing springs, and rocky landscapes. The natural scenery of mountains, water, and streams blend harmoniously, with a distinct microclimate. It is known as the “Sacred Valley, Huaihai’s Finest Scenery, and a Natural Oxygen Bar.”

🌳 Main Attractions

1. Ruiyun Temple Scenic Area: Originally called Dengyun Temple, it is located in the center of Huangcangyu. Inside the temple is a thousand-year-old ginkgo tree. In autumn, the ginkgo leaves turn yellow, and when the wind blows, the falling leaves create an amazing atmosphere, perfect for photos 📸

2. Tianmen Temple Scenic Area: With a long history, it has many historical relics and natural landscapes. In autumn, the mountain trees are colorful, and the view from Tianmen Temple is absolutely breathtaking!

3. Cherry Valley Scenic Area: Although there are no cherries in autumn, the natural scenery here is still beautiful, with red leaves covering the hillsides, as if stepping into a fairy tale world.

4. Huangcang Cave: This is where Liu Bang hid to escape Xiang Yu’s pursuit. Inside the cave is the “Flying Stone.” Standing at the cave entrance, feeling the historical atmosphere and looking out at the autumn scenery is truly magical.

5. Bajian Spring: Legend has it that this spring was formed when Liu Bang drew his sword. The water is clear. In autumn, the surrounding trees change color, complementing the spring beautifully.

🎈 Suggested Itinerary
Morning: After entering the park, first visit Ruiyun Temple Scenic Area to see the ancient temple and the thousand-year-old ginkgo tree, experiencing the blend of history and nature. Then head to Huangcang Cave to explore the historical stories.
Noon: Have some snacks you brought at the rest area inside the park to recharge. If you want to try local food, there are some farmhouse restaurants offering local specialties like native chicken soup, which tastes delicious.
Afternoon: Visit Tianmen Temple Scenic Area to enjoy the autumn scenery along the way and climb to a high point to overlook the entire autumn view of Huangcangyu. Then go to Cherry Valley Scenic Area for a stroll among the red leaves.
Evening: After leaving the park, you can still enjoy the unique scenery of Huangcangyu under the sunset.

💡 Useful Tips

1. Check the weather forecast in advance and choose a sunny day for better photos and clearer views.

2. Some mountain paths in Huangcangyu are steep, so it’s recommended to wear comfortable sports shoes 👟 for easy walking.

3. Autumn mornings and evenings can be chilly, so remember to bring a jacket to avoid catching a cold.

4. There are sightseeing buses inside the park. If you don’t want to walk too much, you can take them, but some attractions still require walking to fully appreciate the beauty.
