Haizi Valley is a gorge located in the Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Known for its high altitude, breathtaking natural scenery, alpine meadows, and snow-capped mountains, it serves as the gateway for climbers aiming to ascend the first and second peaks of Siguniang Mountain, making it a favorite among hiking and mountaineering enthusiasts.
I started my hike from the wooden boardwalk to the right of the Siguniang Mountain Town Visitor Center, walking 500 meters to reach the entrance of Haizi Valley (ticket office). The hiking route was as follows: Haizi Valley Entrance > Zhaijieping > Guozhuangping > Chaoshanping (a round trip of nearly 8 km).
Upon reaching Zhaijieping, I was greeted by expansive alpine meadows and open views. Chaoshanping, in particular, offered a spectacular vantage point for viewing Siguniang Mountain. Since I had a 4 PM bus back to Chengdu, I turned back after reaching Chaoshanping.
One important note: make sure to inform the staff at the entrance when you exit the valley. If you haven’t exited by 5 PM, the staff will call you to confirm your location and ensure your safety.
