Village of 1,000 Households

Wooden-stilted houses, ornate bridges, colorful outfits and elaborate silver headpieces - Xijiang Miao Village is one of the largest Miao villages in China, and will be a delight to all of your senses. You can visit this village all year round, and you'll never be disappointed by what you can find.

It is super picturesque and is set in a natural basin surrounded by little paddy fields where locals grow their crops. Many of the hotels you can stay in will also offer stunning panoramic views of the entire village, which comes to life at night too with shimmering star-like lights.

Things to experience while visiting - if you can:

A Miao Performance: traditional singing and instrumentals that is quite mesmerising.

Guzang Festival: a grand ritual of ancestral worship - usually around early spring and late autumn.

Find it: Xijiang Miao Village, 36km from Leishan Country, Guizhou Province, China
