Dali in Yunnan is famous for "one mountain, one sea and one ancient town". The mountain is Cangshan Mountain and the sea is Erhai Lake. However, the ancient town is not Dali Ancient Town, but "Xizhou Ancient Town". This town was once popular for the beautiful scenery of wind blowing wheat waves and the TV series "Where There Is Wind". However, the most beautiful thing about Xizhou is the tranquil pastoral scenery, the simple and true beauty.

Xizhou is located 18 kilometers north of the ancient city of Dali. Historically, it was an important military town of Nanzhao and one of the commercial centers of Yunnan. It preserves the most and best Bai ethnic minority residential buildings and is the birthplace of the crispy and delicious Xizhou Baba.

The characteristic of Xizhou Ancient Town is that there are many Bai ethnic group buildings with gray eaves, gray tiles, white stone walls, and wooden window lattices. There are three courtyards and one screen wall, four courtyards and five patios. Green mountains and trees can be seen everywhere. There are fewer tourists than in Dali or Lijiang Ancient Town, so it is also very comfortable to take a walk.
