Yichun Rime - Experience the beauty of the North.

Yichun is a prefecture-level city in Heilongjiang Province, and an important eco-tourism city in northern China and a central city in northeastern Heilongjiang Province as approved by the State Council. 

Geographical Location

Located in northeastern China and northeastern Heilongjiang Province, it borders Hegang City and Jiamusi City to the east, Harbin City to the south, Heihe City and Suihua City to the west, and Amur Oblast and the Jewish Autonomous Oblast of Russia across the Heilongjiang River to the north.

Administrative Divisions

The city has jurisdiction over 4 municipal districts, 1 county-level city, and 5 counties, namely Yimei District, Wucui District, Youhao District, Jinlin District, Tieli City, Tangwang County, Fenglin County, Nancha County, Daqingshan County, and Jiayin County.

History

Yichun has a long history that can be traced back to the Zhou Dynasty, when it was the activity area of the Sushen people. It was governed by the Tang, Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. Yichun County was established in 1952, and Yichun City (prefecture-level) was established in 1957 after the abolition of Yichun County.

Geographical Environment

- Topography: The topography is characterized by "eight mountains, half water, half grass, and one field", with high terrain in the northwest and low terrain in the southeast. There are 77 peaks over 1,000 meters above sea level, with the highest being Flat Top Mountain.
- Climate: Yichun has a temperate continental monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 1°C, a frost-free period of 110-125 days, and an average annual precipitation of 750-820 mm.
- Natural Resources: Yichun is rich in water resources, with 702 rivers of various sizes. Mineral resources include more than 20 types of metallic minerals such as gold, silver, and iron, and 25 types of non-metallic minerals such as limestone. Yichun is rich in flora and fauna, with a forest coverage rate of 82.2%, and is home to the largest and most well-preserved Korean pine virgin forest in Asia.

Economic Development

In 2021, Yichun achieved a GDP of CNY 31.869 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%.
