🗻Zao Snow Monster Go see the snow monster on the mountain ☃️

If you're visiting Japan in winter and want to see lots of fluffy snow, we recommend visiting "Zao Snow Monster." See the snow monsters at Mount Zao in the Tohoku region!
🚠 You have to take a ropeway up to the top. It's very high up, and the wind is incredibly strong, causing the snow-covered trees to look like monsters. It's also a popular ski trail, and it's incredibly beautiful. Lots of people come here to ski and snowboard.
🚡 Once you've taken the ropeway up, there's a two-level observation deck (bottom → 1st → 2nd). We went up to the top to see the snow monsters, then went back down to the first level. ᨒ 2nd Level (Top of the Mountain): See the snow monsters. From here, you can see the snow monsters from above. When the sky is clear, you can see the entire mountain. It's absolutely stunning! There's a restaurant up there. ᨒ 1st Floor: This is a wide open area with mild winds and a beautiful, spacious view. It's perfect for strolling, taking photos, and watching the sunset. There's also a restaurant on this level with an amazing view. I highly recommend it. *
🧣Ropeway Tickets🧣𓈀 This place is very popular and packed with tourists. Most recently, we went in "December 2024". They have online tickets for you to buy. You can lock the date and time. 𓈀 When you arrive at the Ropeway, exchange it for a paper ticket at the machine and then walk into the Priority lane comfortably. It feels like a fast track. When we walked in, there was no one in line. Then we waited for the cable car to come and they let us in first. *Recommended to buy in advance. 𓈀 Ticket price: 5,000 yen per person. This price includes a round-trip cable car for 2 distances. 🧤 Additional recommendations 🧤 You must have enough clothes. It is very windy and cold up there. Roughly speaking - You must wear Heattech on top and bottom, with a long-sleeved shirt, cashmere, and a windproof down jacket. - Non-slip shoes for the cold, a woolen hat, gloves, and sunglasses. - Put a Kairo heat bag in your pocket to keep your hands warm. Bring at least two sets per person to ensure enough for the whole day.
🚌 Getting There 🚌 1. Take the Shinkansen from Sendai Station to Yamagata. 2. Once you arrive at Yamagata Station, go to the bus terminal and buy a ticket for the Yamako Bus to Zao Onsen Bus Terminal. (*You must buy a ticket before boarding the bus.) 3. Once there, walk to the Zao Ropeway (Zao Sanroku Station). It takes about 10-15 minutes to take the ropeway to Snow Monster.
(❄️) We spent the whole day here, focusing on a relaxing trip. If it was really cold, we'd take a break from the cold and then go for a walk and take photos. The atmosphere was amazing. You have to pin this place!
