Ishiwari Shrine is located at the 8th station of Mt. Ishiwari.
There is a torii gate at the entrance to the trail, and you have to climb the long 403 stone steps!
Once you reach the top, you have to continue the mountain trail for 30 to 40 minutes. It's a bit disheartening😅, but the footing isn't too bad.
If you push forward from there, you'll see a huge rock🪨 next to the shrine‼ ️
If you look closely👀 at the crack, it looks like the character for "stone"...
This is apparently where the name comes from.
This rock is the object of worship, and you can pass through the crack❣️
It is about 15m high, 60cm wide, and 15m long, and water💧 drips from above, so be careful of your step and pass by it clockwise three times.
Doing so is said to bring good luck✨
I felt something very sacred and spent some time here🙋♀️
(But it really is a narrow crack😂)
I got the goshuin at a resort hotel at the foot of the mountain. They treated me very politely and gave me a charm as a souvenir.
I was curious, so I asked them, and they said that they are not often at the shrine office in the summer and run a hotel.
I see😲
I also got the goshuin of Hirano Tenmangu Shrine there, so the order was reversed, but I headed there after🚗.
