Snowy Trails & Wild Encounters at Jigokudani Monkey Park ❄️🐒

Hiking through a winter wonderland, surrounded by towering snow-covered trees, and then—just like that—you spot them. Wild Japanese macaques, better known as snow monkeys, soaking in the steaming hot springs as if they own the place (because, well, they do).

There’s something magical about seeing them up close, their fur dusted with snow, completely unbothered by the cold. The 1.6 km hike to the park is part of the adventure—just be sure to wear proper boots in winter!
