Driving through Yangshuo's Ten-Mile Art Gallery, my eyes are invariably drawn to the enormous butterfly sculpture perched on a rock face in the distance. It's the symbol of "Heavenly Sounds • Butterfly Spring."
Entering the scenic area, I was first struck by the mystical wonders of the cave. Exploring deeper, I discovered a stalactite shaped like a butterfly, shimmering in the light and shadow. That's when I understood the origin of the attraction's name.
In the park, the Miao and Dong ethnic groups performed passionate and unrestrained songs and dances, immersing me in the rich ethnic customs.
I also excitedly crossed Yangshuo's only pristine suspension bridge. Standing high above, I could hear the melodious sound of mountain waterfalls and gaze upon the breathtaking rural scenery. From this prime viewing platform, I could take in the breathtaking views of Yangshuo's Shangri-La—the Yulong River and Yangjiao Mountain.
However, this adventure did have its share of surprises. Despite the name "Butterfly Spring," I didn't find a single wild butterfly. This place is more about man-made structures and cultural influences than pure natural beauty.
If, like me, you're here to explore the wonders of nature, you might feel a little disappointed. But if you're looking to immerse yourself in local culture and soak up the lively atmosphere, this place is definitely worth a visit!
