The most healing walking spot along the Yangshuo River

The most captivating part of my Yangshuo trip was the Dreamy Yulong Flower-Reflected Rice Fragrance Scenic Area. Although the straw dragon is no longer there, this place is not only an idyllic secret nestled in the mountains and rivers, but even more amazingly, every photo you take, whether with your phone or camera, seems to have its own built-in filter, making any shot truly stunning! Furthermore, if you're staying at the Yangshuo Anzaiye B&B, the Yulong River is less than a 5-minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient and highly recommended for those looking for a relaxing and photo-taking spot.
🌸 Trip Highlights
The Dreamy Yulong Flower-Reflected Rice Fragrance Scenic Area is a newly popular check-in spot in Yangshuo. A vast sea of flowers, set against a backdrop of distant mountains and white clouds, transforms with the changing light and shadows from morning to evening, creating a breathtaking idyllic scene. The area boasts both romantic flower fields and pristine rice paddies. We recommend wearing brightly colored or forest-style clothing to complement the scenery. If you prefer to avoid crowds, visit the area between 7-8 AM and 5-6 PM, when it's less crowded, cooler, and offers beautiful photo opportunities!
🌳Recommended Experiences at the Scenic Area
1. Photo Spotting in the Sea of Flowers:
The park boasts a rich variety of flowers, each season boasting a vibrant display of colors. Enjoy the blossoms in spring and summer, and the golden rice fields in autumn. Bring a hat or scarf for stunning photos!
2. Rice Field Scenic Trail:
A stroll along the paths through the fields offers a close-up look at local crops and a unique glimpse into rural life. For a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, take a leisurely stroll along the trails. The afternoon breeze is perfect for a relaxing experience.
3. Open-air Teahouses:
Some rice fields offer simple teahouses. Enjoy a cup of osmanthus tea or local sour plum soup, relax by the flower fields, and enjoy a leisurely stroll.
📍Practical Information
Address: Approximately 250 meters northwest of Anzaiye B&B in Yangshuo County, Guilin City
Transportation: A 15-minute taxi ride from downtown Yangshuo; if you're staying at Anzaiye B&B, walking distance is also very convenient. Opening Hours: It's generally recommended to visit during the day when the light is best for the best photos.
✅ Tips
1. The best times for photos are 7-8 AM and 5-6 PM, avoiding peak hours when the light is softer.
2. The scenic area isn't very crowded, but some areas have many dirt roads, so it's recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes that won't get muddy.
3. When taking photos with the sea of flowers, try not to step too deep into the fields. This will protect the flowers and plants and create a more natural photo.
4. In autumn, you can enjoy the golden waves of rice paddies beyond the sea of flowers. It's recommended to check the scenic area's blooming schedule in advance.
🍴 Nearby Dining Recommendations
There are several farmhouses near the scenic area, specializing in traditional farmhouse cuisine. Yangshuo beer fish and free-range chicken hotpot are classics. After exploring the flower fields, you can try some. I especially recommend Daoxiang Xiaoyuan Restaurant, which is about a 10-minute walk away.
Before you go, don't forget:
- Check your camera/phone battery level
- Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent
- Book early or check scenic spot opening hours and ticket information.
Yangshuo's rural beauty isn't just for viewing from afar; it's also perfect for experiencing up close. The Dreamy Yulong Flower Reflections and Rice Fragrance Scenic Area is truly captivating, capturing this tranquil and romantic landscape with countless clicks!
