Not in Korea!!!

Blood-and-tear summary from my third trip to Yanji❗️ This Sino-Korean border town is truly delicious and fun - save this special forces-style guide!

📸 Must-visit spots:
1️⃣ Yanbian University's viral photo wall
Perfect for photos day or night! Best at dusk to capture both lighting effects. Opposite is a Korean supermarket for snacks~

2️⃣ Folk Village Korean-style photoshoot
No trip to Yanji is complete without traditional Korean photos! Costume rental + makeup costs 100-300 yuan, remember to book photographer in advance

3️⃣ Mao'er Mountain National Forest Park
Just 30 mins hike to summit for panoramic Yanji views - stunning at sunrise/sunset!

🍛 Food recommendations:
✅【Quanzhou Mixed Rice】~50 yuan/person
Must-try: Stone pot bibimbap, grilled pork bibimbap
📍 Fazhan Street, Hengrun First City storefront

✅【Shunji Cold Noodles】~35 yuan/person
Signature: Freshly pressed cold noodles + sweet & sour pork combo!
📍 Opposite Yanbian University main gate on Park Road

✅【Fengmao BBQ Skewers】~80 yuan/person
Korean-style auto-rotating skewers - lamb skewers are amazing
📍 Multiple branches, choose nearest one

❌ Not recommended: Water Market morning market
Overcrowded with poor experience - same foods cheaper at West Market

🚗 Transportation tips:
▪️ Taxis start at 5 yuan - easy to hail
▪️ Recommend chartered cars for Tumen/Hunchun trips (200-300 yuan/day)
▪️ ~50 yuan taxi from airport to downtown

🏡 Accommodation suggestions:
▪️ Best near Yanbian University - convenient for food & photos
▪️ Off-season hotels from 200+ yuan are decent

📌 Practical notes:
1️⃣ Summer: sunscreen! Winter: warm clothes! Huge temperature swings
2️⃣ Bargain when buying specialties at West Market
3️⃣ Many shops close in afternoon - check business hours
