"Rebirth of Armenia" Monument and Eternal Memorial Altar: Yerevan's landmark buildings, feel the weight of history

Explored Yerevan’s real heart and soul with a stay at the Ani Plaza Hotel, which totally delivers those old-school vibes and city views. Loved the varied breakfast—don’t miss the egg station 🍳! Location’s a winner: easy city walks to Cascade and Republic Square and next door to local eats and supermarkets.
Here are my top spots to hit up in Yerevan:
Genocide memorial wall (5FPQ+8MH, Tsitsernakaberd Parking) – solemn and moving, set aside extra time to take it in.
Armenian Genocide Museum (8 Tsitsernakaberd Hwy): Open Tues-Sun, check their quirky schedule! Arrive before 16:00 for entry—powerful exhibits await.
St. Astvatsatsin Kathoghike Church (17 Abovyan St): Historic, quiet, and photogenic; perfect for a morning walk.
National Puppet Theatre (4 Sayat-Nova Ave): Catch a quirky local performance for pure culture points.
Khnko-Aper Library: Good for families or quiet downtime.
Kami Club & Russian Drama Theater: Soak up Yerevan’s nightlife and theater scene—each has a unique vibe.
Pro tip from my stay – the Ani Plaza Hotel’s pool is solid after a day exploring, but bring a swim cap! Gym is functional if basic, and the staff will sort early check-ins with zero fuss.
Getting Around: Yerevan is ultra walkable, taxis are cheap and easy, and hotel location makes public transport a breeze.
Eat: Try breakfasts at Ani Plaza, and snag Armenian BBQ or dolma at nearby local restaurants.
Tips: No visa needed for most travelers; bring cash as some shops and cabs aren’t card-friendly. Yerevan weather shifts fast—pack layers!
