✅ Bishan Village
An original ecological Huizhou ancient village! Preserves many Ming and Qing dynasty ancient residences, ancestral halls, and old bridges, with a strong sense of daily life and very low commercialization
✅ Bishan Bookstore
Retains the ancient charm of Huizhou-style white walls and black tiles, called "China’s most beautiful rural bookstore" by the CCTV documentary "Book Lovers," a branch of Nanjing Pioneer Bookstore
✅ Niujian Café
A café transformed from a cattle pen, with an interesting space, perfect for photos
✅ Zhulan Bar
A complex transformed from an old oil factory, its unique spatial design and renovation concept are worth visiting~
✅ Bishan Supply and Marketing Cooperative
Converted from an old supply and marketing cooperative, combining shops, exhibition halls, and a café
✅ Bishan Village Main Street
Rows of horse-head walls, exquisite brick carvings, wood carvings, and stone carvings; watching villagers’ daily life is very relaxing
✅ Yunmen Tower
Standing tall in the vast rice fields at the village entrance, it is the symbol of Bishan Village
❤Tips
➡ Rent a bike or walk around the fields, hills, streams, and paths surrounding Bishan Village to feel the tranquility of Huizhou countryside; you can also visit Guanlu Village
➡ There is a German Shepherd at the village entrance, don’t be afraid. Villagers say it’s a stray dog, but it wears a collar, so hopefully it will find its owner soon
➡ The bookstore and supply cooperative have great cultural and creative products and books; also local agricultural products like dried bamboo shoots and tea
➡ Photography: Best light is early morning and evening. Yunmen Tower, rice fields, ancient alleys, bookstore, and horse-head walls are excellent photo spots
🌈Nearby combo tours available
Guanlu Village (“connected ancient residences”), Nanping Village (maze-like ancient alleys), Hongcun, and Xidi are 20-40 minutes away
Bishan Village is perfect for a slow pace, zoning out, daydreaming, reading, and chatting with locals
