Who understands, family! Autumn in Huangshan directly brings ink wash paintings to life, every step is so beautiful you want to scream, your phone storage is never enough for photos! This tried-and-true check-in guide is guaranteed to work if you follow it~
🍂【Best Time to Enjoy Autumn】Take my advice! Late October to mid-November is peak season, especially mid-November when the Chinese tallow trees turn perfectly red and the ginkgo trees glow bright yellow. Miss it and you’ll have to wait a whole year! Secret tip: early morning mist and evening backlight shots come with natural filters, the secret to blowing up your social media √
🚲【2-Day Leisure Route】Lazy-friendly version!
Day 1: After arriving in Huangshan, head straight to the wetland park near the city. Find a lakeside tea house, order a cup of Qimen black tea, watch the fallen leaves drift into the water, and slowly switch to autumn mode~
Day 2: Walk through Hongcun → Tachuan → Lucun! The three spots are super close, just a 20-minute walk between them. Along the way are golden rice fields and ancient villages, every snap is wallpaper-worthy (Hongcun ticket 104 RMB, Tachuan 40 RMB, combo tickets are more cost-effective)
📸【Must-Shoot Spots List】
✅ Hongcun South Lake Painting Bridge: Stand by the bridge to capture reflections, white walls and black tiles with red leaves instantly turn you into the star of a classical masterpiece
✅ Tachuan Mukeng Bamboo Sea: Climb to the viewing platform to see the mountains dyed in layers of color, like a spilled palette
✅ Chengkan Autumn Drying Square: Bright red chili peppers and golden corn drying on bamboo trays, the color impact is amazing
✅ 218 Scenic Road: A must-drive! The whole route is filled with autumn-exclusive beauty, open the sunroof and feel the breeze, super healing
✅ Xixinan: Still lush green in autumn, Fengle River reflects the trees, atmosphere maxed out
💡【Travel Pitfall Avoidance Tips】
▪️ Outfit: Big temperature difference between morning and night, wear a light jacket + dress, Hanfu or plain cotton-linen clothes make for amazing photos!
▪️ Transportation: Self-driving from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai is super convenient. If not driving, take the high-speed train to Huangshan North Station and taxi directly to the spots
▪️ Accommodation: November is peak season, book rooms at least half a month in advance! Prioritize ancient folk inns around Hongcun, open your window to autumn views
▪️ Food: Highly recommend stinky mandarin fish (smells bad but tastes great), Mao tofu (grilled is amazing), bamboo shoot tips with braised pork, paired with a bowl of Huangshan rice wine, warm and super satisfying
If you’re reading this, it’s fate! Quickly your travel buddy, pack your bags, and head to Huangshan for this autumn date~ Don’t forget to share your photos when you get back!
